"Wilhelm Tell" the play, in the German language. Neat gift inscription to the half title page in fountain pen from what appears to be three different dinner guests who presented this copy to the host. Nice solid, clean interior with a bit of toning to the outside page edges through out. Appears unread. Some toning spots to the fore-edge. Top edge is a solid burnt orange. Beautifully illustrated with black and white wood block prints by Walter Klemm. A few tone spots and finger smudges to front and rear boards. Stunning woodblock illustration to the front board of Wilhelm and a young boy holding an apple with an arrow through it! Protected in original cardboard shipping sleeve. A presentation copy from the city of Zurich in commemoration of the 1951 Boys Shooting Event on the occasion of the 600-year anniversary of the admittance to the League of the Swiss Confederates.
