Published by David Bouge, London in1854. 224 PP. Very gently read. Interior is remarkably clean with just a couple of tiny smudges. Front hinge is starting but very firmly attached. Lightly hinged at spine interior at pp. 48/49 and pp. 88/89, easily repairable if desired. Deep blue, pebbled boards are ornately decorated with gilt titles and devices to the spine, front and rear boards. Recessed decorative panel to both boards with gilt device, decorative blindstamped outline. Gently bumped and rubbed to extremities, short tear and fraying to the head of the spine. Small white’ish stain to the top edge of the rear board. Quite a beautiful binding!
