Stated, "Illustrated Classics Edition (color) October, 1929. The greatest number of reprints of this title have "The American Cowboy" at the head of the list opposite of the title page indicating they were produced in or more frequently, after 1942. Up until at least 1942 all have exactly the same copyright page as the first issue in 1929". (courtesy of "The Will James Books - Don Frazier) Later printing. Very gently read if at all. Bright gilt titles to the spine with a bit of loss to some letters. Corners are gently bumped with a spot of rubbing. Beautiful, clean, full colour pastedown illustration to the front board. Previous owners stamp along with old pricing erasures and light indents to the top right corner of the ffep, very faint pencil erasure to the top right corner of the half-title page, otherwise the interior is crisp, clean and solid. Dustjacket is has numerous chips, creases and tape repaired tears from the interior; however the title and illustration on the front wrap are complete. Now protected in archival brodart jacket. Fourteen stunning colour and black & white illustrations throughout by the master "cowboy artist" himself.
