From the London Supplementary Readers series this is number C8. Published in 1937. Laminate wraps (softcover) are moderately rubbed to extremities, short tears to the head and tail of the spine, 15.5 cm diagonal crease to the front wrap, one dog-eared page. Red and black illustrations to the front wrap are still quite vibrant. Faint pencil erasures to the verso of the front wrap and ffep, short tear to the spine edge, glue spot to the rear wrap where library envelope was glued (this is the only indication of ex-libris), handful of very short tears to pages throughout. Somebody has very carefully and neatly coloured the collars and ties of the children in the illustration on pp.15, otherwise the interior is clean and unmarked. The late Ms. Graham was an accomplished book editor and children’s book author. She received the Eleanor Farjeon Award from the Children's Book Circle in 1961 in recognition of her distinguished career. This title is scarce in any condition.
