SIGNED by Colonel John W. Mitchell and Lt. Rex T. Barber to the dedication page. Stated first edition with number line to one. Very gently read, unclipped and not remaindered. Interior is clean and unmarked. Dustjacket is lightly bumped to extremities with minor shelfwear to show. Now protected in archival brodart jacket. Considered by many to be a turning point in WWII, American intelligence launched an attack on Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, the master mind behind the attack on Pearl Harbor, with the intent of killing him. A squadron of P-38 “Lightening” aircraft led by Major John W. Mitchell carried out the attack, with Lt. Rex T. Barber credited with the fatal shot that brought down Yamamoto’s aircraft.
